This hedge is suitable for all year round a has various characteristics that will bring added interest to your garden.  In order to get the best from your hedge and gain those unique colours the plant is famous for pruning is essential. It has a quick growth rate of and can reach 24 inches a year so don’t worry about cutting too much. The best time to prune a dogwood hedge is when the hedge is dormant during the winter or early spring before new leaves appear. It is recommended that you cut you cut the hedge back around 2 – 4 inches above ground level. This will produce a more colourful bark in Winter.
